Documents & Conditions

Renter and all drivers must have a valid, original driver’s license (PID) which must be presented at the time of pick-up. All drivers with a non-U.S. driver’s license must present a valid passport or a valid government-issued identification card from their country of residence as a secondary form of identification at the time of pick-up.

When it comes to car rentals, there may be some rules regarding the minimum age to rent a car (or a certain car group) and a minimum period of time that the driver has held the driver’s license during the booking process. In general, the minimum age to rent a car is 21 years old and the driver must have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year. For some categories and models of cars (larger and/or more powerful cars) a minimum age of 25 years may apply to the rental (additional insurance may be required depending on the vehicle category if the driver is between 21 and 25 years old).

You may also choose to replace this insurance if you have coverage through your credit card. Please be aware that if you use the credit card insurance, it is the customer’s full responsibility to pay for any vehicle damages and then request reimbursement from the credit card company.
